My name is Vanessa Wade. I teach yoga classes at Madrona MindBody Institute and around the Quimper Peninsula: Room to Move Yoga, Prosper Bodyworks, and All Points Pilates. Prior to moving to the Olympic Peninsula two years ago, I taught group and private classes in La Jolla / San Diego, California.
Over a decade ago, I was first introduced to yoga while traveling in rural China when I happened upon an impromptu session of sun salutations led by a fellow, study-abroad student. Inspired by this initial experience, I began my yogic journey by practicing Purna yoga in Seattle. I then continued to learn by delving into the practices of Iyengar, Hatha and Vinyasa in La Jolla, California.
In April of 2016, I successfully completed my 200-hour, Vinyasa-based Yoga Teacher Training under the mentorship of Gerhard Gessner, E-RYT, founder of Prana Yoga Center in La Jolla, California. Shortly thereafter, I continued my yogic education by completing Prana’s Restorative Teacher Training, led by Shauna MacKay, RYT 500. A believer in lifelong learning, I have furthered my studies by attending workshops led by Tiffany Cruikshank, Clara Oss Roberts and others.
My teaching style is mindful, gentle and alignment-based. I strive to make every person feel nurtured and appreciated regardless of the style of class attended, whether it be Vinyasa, Hatha, Restorative, Pre- or Postnatal yoga. Ultimately, my hope is that my students will leave class with a sense of calm, inner strength and renewed dedication to their own journey.
Off the mat, I can be found at the beach or forest with my husband, planning our next camping trip, or concocting something delicious in the kitchen.
